YOUR TASKS

  • You will assist in the practicebased teaching at the department (i.e. organization, counselling and assessment of practical exercises and seminars), specifically the Moot Court Human Rights course, in which you are responsible for the organisation, trainin en supervision of students participating in the InterAmerican Human Rights Moot Court Competition, as well as for supervising master theses.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a degree of Master in Law. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
  • You are involved in other professional activities and/or you have demonstrable experience that may contribute to the quality of the practicebased teaching at the department, in casu participation in the InterAmerican Human Rights Moot Court Competition.
  • You are interested in a teaching assignment in the field concerned.
  • You are interested in academic and/or projectbased research and services.
  • Any teaching experience and/or participation in (human rights) moot courts, etc. is recommended.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a one year appointment, which may be renewed indefinitely for five years at a time. Attention: You cannot be appointed for a cumulative percentage of more than 30% as a Teaching Assistant at Ghent University.
  • Your appointment will start on 16 January 2020 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP3. More information about our salary scales.
